Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 May 2026
These terms govern the electrical work we provide. By accepting a quote from Fraserburgh Electrician you agree to these terms. Read them before accepting any quote.
If you book us for electrical work and you are not signing on behalf of a business, you are a consumer under UK law and you have specific rights that cannot be excluded by these terms. Where these terms conflict with your statutory consumer rights, your statutory rights prevail.
1. About us
Fraserburgh Electrician is an electrical contractor based in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire AB43. We are NICEIC approved and a member of SELECT. We hold £5,000,000 public liability insurance, renewed annually.

2. Services we provide
We offer domestic and commercial electrical services within the AB43 postcode and a 5-mile radius around Fraserburgh. Services include EICRs, fuse box upgrades, EV charger installations, rewires, fault finding, emergency callouts, smoke alarm installs, PAT testing, fixed wire testing, and the other services listed on our services page.
We do not undertake gas work, plumbing, heating engineering, refrigerant pipework, or DIY-grade installs that don't meet BS 7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 standards. We refer those to appropriate trades.
3. Quotes
- Quotes are provided free of charge and without obligation
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued, unless stated otherwise on the quote itself
- Quotes are based on the information you provide and any survey we conduct
- If circumstances change materially before work begins (e.g., we discover non-disclosed wiring conditions during survey) we will revise the quote in writing before starting
- Quotes are fixed once accepted in writing. We absorb the risk of estimation error within the scope of the quote
4. Acceptance and contract formation
A contract is formed when you accept our written quote in writing (email, WhatsApp, or signed paper). Acceptance creates a binding agreement subject to your statutory cancellation rights set out in section 5.
5. Your cancellation rights (consumer customers)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you are a consumer and you book us by phone, email, WhatsApp, or via this website (a "distance contract"), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of the contract being formed, without giving a reason.
- To cancel, email us at hello@fraserburghelectrician.co.uk within the 14-day window
- If you ask us to begin the work during the 14-day cancellation period and then cancel, we can charge you for the work done up to the point of cancellation
- If you ask us to begin the work during the 14-day period and the work is fully completed before the 14 days are up, you lose your right to cancel
For emergency callouts where you ask us to attend within 14 days of booking, you explicitly waive the 14-day cancellation right for the emergency portion of the work.
6. Payment
- Jobs under £500: payable in full on completion, no deposit required
- Jobs £500 to £2,000: 25% deposit on confirmation, balance on completion
- Jobs over £2,000: 25% deposit on confirmation, 25% mid-project (where applicable), balance on completion
- Payment methods: bank transfer (preferred), card payment in person, cash
- Payment terms: balance due within 7 days of completion. Late payment may incur interest at 8% above Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable
7. Materials and ownership
Materials remain our property until paid for in full. Once payment is received, title transfers to you. Materials are supplied with manufacturer warranties where applicable, which we will pass through to you.
8. Certification and compliance
Every job we complete is signed off to BS 7671 18th Edition Amendment 2 standards. NICEIC certificates are emailed to you within 24 hours of completion. Certificates name the qualifying signatory (Grant) who has personally inspected, tested, or supervised the work.
9. Warranty
- Workmanship warranty: 12 months from completion date. If our work fails or develops a fault attributable to our installation, we will return and remedy at no cost
- Manufacturer warranty on parts: as supplied by the manufacturer, typically 1 to 5 years depending on product. We will assist with warranty claims
- Exclusions: damage caused by third parties, customer misuse, acts of nature (lightning, flood), or modifications made after our work without our involvement
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for any loss arising under or in connection with the contract is limited to:
- The price paid for the work that caused the loss, OR
- The cover available under our £5,000,000 public liability insurance for the relevant event,
whichever is the greater.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of business, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of opportunity.
11. Insurance
We hold £5,000,000 public liability insurance. Certificate available on request before work begins. Renewed annually.
12. Access and customer obligations
- You must provide reasonable access to the property at the agreed time
- If you cancel or rearrange a booked visit with less than 24 hours notice we may charge a £45 administration fee to cover the lost slot
- You are responsible for telling us about any known hazards (asbestos, structural concerns, dangerous animals) before we attend
- Where work requires power off, we will coordinate the timing with you
13. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our work or service:
- Contact us first at hello@fraserburghelectrician.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge within 2 working days and resolve within 14 days
- If you're not satisfied with our response, you can escalate to NICEIC's complaints process at niceic.com or SELECT at select.org.uk
- If the dispute remains unresolved you can pursue legal remedies in the Scottish courts (see section 14)
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, with Aberdeen Sheriff Court being the typical venue for AB43-related matters.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were most recently revised. Terms in force when you accept a quote govern that contract, even if we later update the terms on the website.
16. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in force.
